Of Cabbages and Kings are excited to announce a screening of the documentary Made You Look at Hackney Picture house on Monday October 26 at 6:00pm. Director Anthony Peters and producer David Waterson will be there to introduce the film and lead a Q&A following the screening.
This film, about creativity in the digital age, is a feature documentary about the UK DIY graphic arts and illustration scene. The documentary includes interviews with a number of established artists and designers from across the UK, including Anthony Burrill, Hattie Stewart and Kate Moross, about their work and how they view art and making in the midst of a digital revolution. Director Anthony Peters and producer David Waterson will be there to introduce the film and lead a Q&A session following the screening.
When we heard about the film Made You Look we just knew that we had to get involved. The film is primarily about printmaking and the digital age. The documentary interviews a number of established artists from across the UK about their work and how they view art and making in the middle of a digital revolution.
Of Cabbages and Kings is a shop and gallery space specialising in contemporary printmaking from UK based artists. We work with a number of artists who also print at Print Club London, a studio space that gives artists access to screenprinting equipment on a membership basis. Many of the artists in the film are also members of Print Club, which is located down the road from us in Dalston.
